Evernorth Holdings (XRPN), a newly listed XRP-focused treasury company, saw its shares rise as much as 5% during its Monday debut on the Nasdaq stock exchange. The listing follows shareholder approval from blank-check firm Armada Acquisition Corp. II on October 2 to combine with Evernorth. The company aims to hold approximately 473 million XRP, valued at $657 million, positioning itself as the largest publicly traded XRP treasury entity.
Concurrent with the market debut, Evernorth appointed Hugo Jeandesboz, former Co-Chief Investment Officer of Coinbase Asset Management, as its new Chief Investment Officer. Jeandesboz will oversee treasury strategy, including allocation, liquidity management, and the active management of the company's XRP holdings. Evernorth intends to deploy these holdings into decentralized finance (DeFi) yield strategies to generate additional income.
Market data indicates that the XRP token was trading at $1.39 per unit, with a 24-hour volume of $1.48 billion and a market capitalization of roughly $87.8 billion.
The successful Nasdaq debut of Evernorth Holdings signals growing institutional appetite for crypto-asset treasury vehicles, particularly those centered on major tokens like XRP. By securing a high-profile CIO from Coinbase Asset Management, Evernorth is attempting to bridge traditional financial expertise with decentralized finance yield generation, potentially lending credibility to its operational model in the eyes of public market investors.
However, the strategy relies heavily on the performance of DeFi protocols and the stability of XRP’s price. While holding 473 million XRP provides significant scale, the integration of active treasury management with yield-seeking deployments introduces complex operational risks. Investors must weigh the potential upside of yield generation against the volatility inherent in both the underlying asset and the smart contract environments used for deployment.
