StablecoinX has named Christopher Jensen, a former digital asset executive at Franklin Templeton, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Jensen succeeds Ted Chen, who led the company through its public listing in June and will continue serving as board chairman. The appointment places Jensen in charge of the largest corporate holder of Ethena’s ENA token.
Traded on Nasdaq under the ticker USDE, StablecoinX focuses on the Ethena ecosystem, which issues USDe, a synthetic dollar ranking as the fifth-largest stablecoin with nearly $4.4 billion in circulation. The company holds approximately 3.03 billion ENA tokens, representing roughly 20% of the total supply. Prior to this role, Jensen helped build Franklin Templeton’s digital asset group after its 2018 launch, where the firm’s venture fund participated in Ethena’s seed round.
This leadership transition signals a strategic consolidation of institutional expertise within the publicly traded crypto infrastructure sector. By appointing Jensen, who possesses deep ties to both traditional asset management and early-stage protocol development, StablecoinX aims to strengthen its operational credibility and governance framework while managing significant exposure to the Ethena ecosystem.
The move occurs amid heightened activity for Ethena, including the recent launch of Ethena Pay, suggesting a push toward broader utility and adoption of the USDe synthetic dollar. Market observers should monitor how this experienced leadership team navigates regulatory scrutiny and market volatility, particularly given the substantial concentration of ENA holdings and the token's recent price fluctuations.
