Nasdaq-listed Strive has increased its bitcoin holdings to more than 30,000 BTC following the acquisition of 3,311 coins last week, according to a Tuesday filing. The company now holds 32,773 BTC, valued at approximately $2.7 billion at current prices, maintaining its position as the fifth-largest publicly traded bitcoin treasury company behind Strategy, Twenty One, Metaplanet, and MARA.
Strive’s stock (ASST) experienced a slight decline on Tuesday but remains up nearly 60% year-to-date, contrasting with other digital asset treasuries that have seen significant share price drops amid recent bitcoin volatility. Unlike some competitors, Strive has not utilized debt to finance its cryptocurrency purchases. CEO Matt Cole describes the company as debt-free, with zero margin requirements and no encumbered bitcoin.
Based in Dallas, Texas, Strive launched as an official bitcoin treasury last year. In January 2026, it completed the all-stock acquisition of Semler Scientific, marking the first instance of one publicly traded bitcoin treasury company acquiring another. The firm was founded by Vivek Ramaswamy, a former Ohio gubernatorial candidate and tech entrepreneur.
Strive’s accumulation of over 30,000 BTC without leveraging debt distinguishes its operational model from many peers in the digital asset treasury sector. While competitors like Strategy rely heavily on capital markets and debt instruments to scale their holdings, Strive’s debt-free approach may offer greater resilience against market downturns and interest rate fluctuations. This structural difference is reflected in its stock performance, which has outperformed several other treasury companies despite broader bitcoin price corrections.
The completion of the Semler Scientific acquisition in early 2026 signals a potential shift toward consolidation within the public bitcoin treasury space. As the first merger between two such entities, this move could set a precedent for future industry integration. Investors and analysts will likely monitor whether Strive continues to expand its footprint through acquisitions or organic growth, while balancing the risks associated with concentrated exposure to bitcoin’s volatile price action.
