US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $998.9 million in net inflows on Monday, establishing a new high for daily capital accumulation in 2026. This figure surpasses the previous yearly peak of $844 million set on January 14 and represents the largest single-day intake since October 6, 2025, when inflows exceeded $1.2 billion. Despite this surge, the sector has maintained a cumulative net outflow position of approximately $464 million for the year to date.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust led the session with $381 million in inflows, followed by the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF at $289 million and Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund with roughly $239 million. Concurrently, US spot Ether ETFs drew about $270 million, also hitting a 2026 daily record, while US spot XRP ETFs reported no net flows, keeping their cumulative inflows near $1.71 billion. Bitcoin traded at $85,430 during the reporting period, reflecting a 4.7% increase over 24 hours.
The return of substantial institutional demand into spot Bitcoin ETFs signals a potential stabilization of investor sentiment after a period of net outflows earlier in the year. The concentration of inflows in major issuers like BlackRock, ARK, and Fidelity suggests that large-scale capital is re-entering the market through established compliance channels rather than fragmented retail activity. This dynamic reinforces the role of these financial products as primary gateways for traditional finance exposure to digital assets, particularly when price momentum aligns with technical indicators such as the 365-day moving average.
However, the persistence of a negative year-to-date balance sheet for the ETF sector highlights the volatility inherent in current crypto asset allocation strategies. While Monday’s volume breaks recent records, it does not immediately reverse the broader trend of caution that characterized the first half of 2026. Market participants should monitor whether this influx sustains itself across subsequent trading sessions or if it remains an isolated reaction to short-term price appreciation, as consistent positive flows are required to shift the structural narrative from defensive positioning to aggressive accumulation.
