US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds attracted approximately $347 million in net inflows on Wednesday, marking the fifth consecutive day of positive flows. This activity occurred despite Bitcoin trading below $84,000 after briefly exceeding $87,000 earlier in the session. According to SoSoValue data, these funds have accumulated about $2.65 billion over the last five trading sessions. However, Wednesday’s total represented a decrease from Tuesday’s $714.75 million and Monday’s 2026 high of $998.95 million.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust led the sector with $166 million in inflows, followed by Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund with $143 million, per Farside Investors. The September inflows totaled $2.37 billion, which offset previous outflows and raised year-to-date figures to roughly $596 million. Concurrently, US spot Ether ETFs saw $105 million in inflows for their fourth straight day, bringing cumulative assets to $13.8 billion. Spot XRP ETFs added $18 million, reaching about $1.8 billion in total inflows. At publication, Bitcoin was priced at $83,743, down 2.7% over 24 hours but up 9.5% over seven days.
The divergence between sustained institutional capital entry and immediate price weakness suggests that ETF demand is currently driven by strategic accumulation rather than short-term momentum chasing. While the daily inflow volume decreased from its recent peak, the consistency of five consecutive positive days indicates resilient buying pressure that has successfully absorbed selling forces during the intraday drop below $84,000. This pattern highlights a market structure where large-scale fund managers are executing steady acquisition plans independent of minor volatility spikes, effectively stabilizing the asset's floor through persistent liquidity provision.
Looking ahead, the narrowing gap between Bitcoin and alternative crypto ETF inflows warrants close attention. Although Bitcoin remains the dominant recipient of capital, the simultaneous four-day inflow streak for Ether and continued growth in XRP products signal a broadening of institutional appetite beyond the primary digital asset. If this diversification continues, it may reduce the correlation between Bitcoin's price action and overall crypto market sentiment, potentially leading to more segmented performance metrics across different token classes within regulated investment vehicles.
