US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) experienced significant net outflows on Wednesday, recording approximately $262 million in withdrawals. This reversal followed $176 million in inflows the previous day and contributed to a total weekly net outflow of $151 million through Wednesday. The fund movements coincided with Bitcoin’s price decline below $82,000 following the release of US inflation data, with the asset trading at roughly $80,741 at publication time, down 3.2% over the preceding 24 hours.
Other major cryptocurrency ETFs also faced negative flows during the same period. Ether ETFs shed around $130 million on Wednesday, bringing their weekly outflows to $190 million. Solana ETFs recorded $1.3 million in outflows on Wednesday, extending an eight-session streak of withdrawals totaling $3 million for the week. Zcash ETFs attracted $3.7 million on Wednesday but remained in a net outflow position for the week, with $3.2 million withdrawn overall.
In contrast to the broader market trend, XRP ETFs bucked the pattern by attracting about $740,000 on Wednesday. This positive flow made XRP funds the only category among the five tracked ETF types to post positive net flows for the week.
The simultaneous outflows across Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana ETFs suggest that institutional investors are reacting cautiously to macroeconomic signals, specifically the US inflation report, rather than isolating sentiment to individual assets. The sharp reversal from inflows to outflows within a single day highlights the volatility of current capital allocation strategies in the crypto sector, where short-term price dips trigger immediate liquidity withdrawals from regulated vehicles.
XRP’s ability to maintain positive net flows while other major assets suffered losses indicates a divergence in investor confidence or specific demand drivers unrelated to the broader market correction. This resilience may reflect unique structural factors or targeted accumulation, distinguishing XRP from the correlated risk-off behavior seen in Bitcoin and Ethereum markets.
